FuTa 2.0

[paragraph:20u5juen]recently i was encountered with the fact that FuTa seems to produce slight "shift" when importing alphamaps. After that i sat down to fix that and, yeah, i kinda got carried away and rewrote the file reading/writing since the original one was "sub optimal".

So i threw out the file management and replaced it with a cleaner one. Since im not sure if everything else was really used i did only re implement alphmap import/export. If they are used, please let me know then i will put it in again.

I also moved the source code to github since i think its more comfortable to use.

One more feature request, namely having heightmap import from obj, has already been made and i will try to implement that asap.

Some of you probably know this thread idea from other forums. If not, here you go:

Why should we do this?

What i do not understand is why it one should not be able to talk about such stuff in a thread, especially when it seems to work pretty well in other forums (for ex. on Facepunch, to name only one). So lets get this going :)[/paragraph:1vqrmpse]

Noggit / [RELEASE] Noggit Unstable

Hi all,

i setup a CI which builds a new noggit binary as soon as there are new commits to the noggit sdl repo.
I did this so that devs can have instant feedback for changes and modders can try the most recent changes.

But always remember:

  • they are unstable and only for testing!
  • always back stuff up before using!
  • if u lose data its not my deal!
  • no complains about not working things in this board!

if sth doesnt work, u can report it here or on the bugtracker if u also note down that u used a unstable version

Recent Changes:

  • fixes to the uid system (reason for disappearing models)
  • fix for model import
  • fixed wmo extents, resave to fix whole adt (video)
  • reallylowtexture impl
  • make sure water min/max are accurate
  • make sure that water info is stored (fixes water type)

Noggit is Open Source again!

After two years of lurking in the dark, noggit sdls source code finally sees daylight again!

It had a more or less bad time there. neither it was feeded nor it was beloved.
But u can change that: if your skilled in c++ u can help us clean up this mess

Feel free to create pull requests at bitbucket.
Permanent access will be granted as soon as we see that u are capable of programming.
(sorry about that but there are to much people out there which just pretend)
The branch containing the latest (1.3) source is named "sdl"

Furthermore i started to rewrite/refactor noggit from ground up. I will publish the src i already have soon (TM).
As above everyone is invited to participate.

Management / Server Reinstall

i gonna reinstall the server, what means that the repo will be down for a couple of hours.
i can either do that today or tomorow. if it would be better to do that today leave me a note here, else i will do that tomorow.

for my personal education i created sth called "FuBli" its about rendering wow adts in opengl with textures.....
its just supposed to no support at all but maybe someone wants to try it out....

FuTa / The Future of FuTa

Hi all

recently i arrived at a point with futa where i had to decide if i should go on working on FuTa as seperate tool or started to bring everything to Noggit.
i decided that it would more sense to work on with Noggit so Steff an me started to collect some ideas for next versions of noggit. a few days ago i started with this.

Since this will take a lot of time until we got everything into noggit, i wanted to ask u guys here which functions u really need for modding and i should try to bring to FuTa until noggit features are finished

Hi all

as some of u know im working on an tool to edit adt files. based on Mjo's GP classes. today i reached a status which is in my opinion worth to release here. source code will be public as soon as the code is tidied up :D

-alphamap import/export
-layer settings
-water import/export (thx to Mjo)
-heightmap import/export
-alphamap save paths is now same as the opend adt... (noi Dialog anymore)

more are planned and updates will be posted here


-added settings
-open last files
-grayscale and colored alphmap selectable
-completlly useless 3d view of heightmap

-fixed bugs with bigalphamaps (Wotlk explored by steff see some psot after this)
-fixed bugs with compressed alphamaps
-updated to lastest GP (thx Mjo)

Im also looking for someon who is talented in photoshop and could create an Icon
